L-R: Lucia, Ylian, me, and Maria

Yesterday evening, to celebrate Maria visiting (she moved away at the end of summer), my sister thought we should have a reunion of sorts. Last December the five of us went to the Olive Garden to celebrate Maria's birthday, so Samantha and I decided to recreate the night. We took her to the restaurant and had our friends Lucia and Ylian show up by surprise! Well, it was supposed to be a surprise but I'm horrible at keeping those kinds of secrets (never help me plan a surprise party, I'll blow it for sure); I'm sure Maria figured it out, but she was happy nonetheless.

Last year, after dinner we went to our newest mall to hang out and take pictures, and there was a running joke about taking pics with the big, wet, dirty balls. Ornamental balls that is, dirty from condensation and dirt. So of course we did it again.

My mom gave me the pink sweater for Christmas. The pale pink is such a lovely shade. I paired with my darkest black jeans for a nice casual look, then I dressed up the outfit with my silver pointy-cap-toed booties from Victoria's Secret. Last year VS had a ton of cool shoes of their own line, but now it's mostly just Uggs and Converse. What happened?!

Here's a better look at the shoes:

You know what's even more awesome than liking a pair of shoes so much? When somebody else likes them too! A guy told me they were really "futuristic" which I take as a great compliment.

Additionally, here are a couple pictures of me and Ylian making silly #selca poses: (and me not knowing to lean my chin down in pictures)

And here, Sam and Lucia riding the balls:

I came in like a Chriiiistmas ball!
Until next time, wishing you all a great winter break filled with friends, family, and oversized Christmas ornaments -Kae xoxo

Sedona Style

The Look:
Shirt: Wal*mart
Skirt: Forever 21
Socks: H&M
Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Last month my family and I took a trip to Sedona, Arizona, for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was a super cool little town; way spiritual with energy vortexes, psychics, and crystal shops on every corner! I found some cool Christmas gifts and we dined at some pretty nice restaurants. On Thanksgiving day we even visited the Grand Canyon--and boy, was it grand (boy, am I lame!)

I've been procrastinating so bad on posting my outfits from a month ago, but Felicity texted me today and reminded me of our poor blog, so I got crackin'!

Day one: I got the tartan printed skirt from Kohl's s.o. r.a.d. line, and I love the color combination of purple, pink, navy, and black. For the cooler weather, layering it over tights feels warmer and looks cool. I wore it with a simple black v-neck and black boots for a chic but not too fussy look.

Thanksgiving day: This is the same dress from my previous post, styled how I originally planned on wearing it. I didn't notice it so much with jeans under, but this dress is quite short. I wore it with a pair of knit shorts underneath, and good thing I did! Dinner with my family is not the time to be flashing my undies at everyone.

A different day: I put this ensemble together not too long ago and I like it so much. I've had this shirt for so long, it's actually rather tight on me. Bre gave me the skirt for my birthday, and together I think  it looks so cute! The boots have b&w animal print and are from Charlotte Russe that I got for five dollars! I get tons of compliments on them, so what a steal!

What did you eat/wear/do on Thanksgiving?

Yours hopefully, Kae xoxo

Buzzcut: It's Not Just for Boys Anymore

Blog I've missed you so much! My house is really cold right now and I swear I'm freezing to death....it's really hard to type because my fingers are so cold. But I shall power through it!

Anyway...after that strange introduction I think it's best to get down to my actually topic of the blog post. For the last couple of years I've been wanting to get a buzzcut. I've read countless threads and blogs about other girls that did it and I just wanted to feel that same happiness that all of those other girls did. My grandmother; however, was very adamant that she didn't want me to do it because "I'd look like a boy." Finally, after begging and begging and begging for her to let me cut it, she finally gave in and let me. And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

I know a lot of people that also did it said that they felt like a whole new person, but I don't really feel like a new person, I just feel more like me. I feel more confident now. Granted, my head gets cold really easily now....but that's okay, seeing as I stole my boyfriend's beanie.

A condition that my grandmother gave me for this haircut was that if somebody says something bad/mean about it I'm not allowed to come crying to her. You know what? If somebody wants to say something bad about me because of my frigging haircut, good for them. My hair will grow back, but the ugliness that's inside them--that will never go away.

So anybody that's reading this blog post, anybody that ever gets teased or made fun of or just doesn't feel beautiful, listen to me.

You are beautiful. You're beautiful whether you're a size zero or a size 13; you're beautiful whether you have hair down your back or none at all; you're beautiful whether you're a world renowned fashion model or a small town college student.

Don't ever let anybody tell you anything different.

Until next them, beautiful readers of mine.

Fishnets and Jeans and Boots, Oh My!

Good morning and happy almost Christmas my lovely blog readers! I have missed you so much, but with finals and swim meets and whatnot I've just been too busy to post anything.

A girl on my swim team asked me this a few weeks ago: "Should I start dressing more like a girl? Cause I always wear basketball shorts and t-shirts. It bothered me because if she's comfortable in her clothes, why should she change it? (But I have a feeling she asked me that because I've started wearing more an more skirts and dresses to school.)

Anyway, I am totally in love with the fishnet+ripped jeans look.
Yup. In love with it. It makes me feel more comfortable and less exposed. And also my fishnet, skirt and ankle boot combo.
Anyway, I really hope I post some more stuff soon, as I've missed blogging and I'm finally on a break from school.

Have a wonderful day my lovely readers.
